Numbers can be interesting and sometimes confusing. While some people enjoy solving equations, others have difficulty grasping it. A particular equation recently sparked a heated debate online; people were passionately debating over the definitive answer.
The ratio in question is: 8 ÷ 2 (2 + 2). Although it may seem simple at first glance, the real problem lies in determining the right program to use. This led to the emergence of two popular sparring formulas: BODMAS and PEDMAS.
BODMAS lines define indexing, division, multiplication, addition and subtraction. BODMAS advocates say the answer is the same. On the other hand, PEDMAS, which equates chains, exponents, division, multiplication, addition and subtraction, shows that the answer is 16.
