A sales assistant told my wife Emma she wasn’t “pretty enough” to work in their store, so I decided to teach her a lesson.
I asked my friend Mike, who works in fashion to help me. A few days later, Mike and I went into the same store. He introduced himself as a talent scout. He asked the assistant if they had anyone with a unique look. The assistant smugly replied, “I’ve been told I have a great look for this.”
Mike looked her up and down and said, “I DON’T THINK YOU’RE PRETTY ENOUGH FOR THIS JOB.” Her jaw dropped and she got the message. Mike and I left, feeling good about standing up for Emma.
Was my lesson too harsh?
